This guide is intended to be a quick overview of how to get started in Suramar, with some warnings about the problems I encountered while working through it. Wowhead has an excellent comprehensive guide for further reading. Be sure to check the WoW Loremaster Calculator to see which of your characters has already completed the most quests in Suramar. Getting to Suramar
The Suramar zone is located in the center of the Broken Isles. You can technically go to the zone at any time, but you can't begin any of the quest lines unless you start with the Khadgar's Discovery (Wowhead | WoW DB) quest you automatically get when you reach level 110. Pain Points
These quests have generated the most questions, comments, and general frustration on the forums. Rumor Has It (Wowhead | WoW DB) To complete this quest you have to talk to 3 different NPCs around Suramar. The pseudo-stealth mechanic makes this one difficult because you will inevitably have to fight as some point, and the group of mobs you pull can contain elites. Your best bet will be to sprint in, talk to your target, and prepare to fight. If you can't take on the mobs yourself, just die and move on to your next target full of resentment for what could have been an awesome quest if the gameplay was better. Arcane Thirst (Wowhead | WoW DB) This was a frustrating quest. The mob shooting spells at you is immune and will interrupt you when you try to gather the Crystallized Ancient Mana around the base the thing she is standing on. Ignore the boss at first and focus on the two Eternal Tether mobs moving around the outer ring of the room. Once those are killed, the boss will no longer be immune and you can make quick work of her. If you do die, and you weren't paying attention to how you got to the cave, the coords are 34.9, 47.4 You've Got to Be Kitten Me Right Meow (Wowhead | WoW DB) This quest perfectly emulates the frustration of herding cats. You cannot do it while mounted and you have to watch out for the patrolling elite. Rogues & Druids can complete the quest while in stealth, which takes care of the roving elite problem. Power Grid (Wowhead | WoW DB) To solve the puzzle, you have to get both colored beams of light pointing at one of the seals. It will take a bit of trial and error to get it right, but there aren't that many different combinations possible. It's not that obvious, but you have to click on the seal after you get the lights pointing at it. The Delicate Art of Telemancy (Wowhead | WoW DB) By the Earthmother, this quest was frustrating! You can do what I did and randomly click on portals until you eventually get it right. The correct pattern is Garden -> Fountain -> Telemetry Lab (grab the Weathered Telemancy Beacon from the building) -> Garden -> Warp Lab (grab the Cracked Warpsleeve by the fountain). StorylinesHorde & AllianceAn Ancient GiftStart
The An Ancient Gift quest chain starts with Arcane Communion (Wowhead | WoW DB) . This quest becomes available after you complete the Suramar introduction quest chain starting with Khadgar's Discovery (Wowhead | WoW DB) in Dalaran.
If you have completed Arcane Communion, but aren't able to turn it in, you will need to feed First Arcanist Thalyssra some ancient mana to open up that dialog option. End
Credit for An Ancient Gift will be given after completing The Valewalker's Burden (Wowhead | WoW DB). Blood and WineStart
The Blood and Wine quest chain starts with Moths to a Flame (Wowhead | WoW DB) . In order for this quest to be available you will need to have Honored rep with The Nightfallen faction. End
Credit for Blood and Wine will be given after completing And They Will Tremble (Wowhead | WoW DB) . A Growing CrisisStart
The A Growing Crisis quest chain starts with the quest A Growing Crisis (Wowhead | WoW DB) . This quest becomes available once you are 7,000/21,0000 Revered rep with The Nightfallen faction. To complete the quest, you can take the portal to Falanaar instead of flying to the quest area. End
Credit for A Growing Crisis will be given after completing The Emerald Nightmare: The Stuff of Dreams (Wowhead | WoW DB) . This quest requires you to kill Xavious in the Emerald Nightmare raid. After defeating Xavious, the item you need to collect will be next to Cenarious. You can complete this on any difficulty, so when it was current content players would just hop into LFR. It remains to be seen how this requirement will be completed in future expansions. Breaking the LightbreakerStart
The Breaking the Lightbreaker quest chain starts with Lyana Darksorrow (Wowhead | WoW DB) . The quest giver is in a building on the northern end of Felsoul Hold, and can be a bit of a pain to find. Fun fact: you get a different quest description if you are on a Demon Hunter. End
Credit for Breaking the Lightbreaker will be given after completing Azoran Must Die (Wowhead | WoW DB) . After accepting this quest you will get a portal to the Legion ship where you kill Azoran. Be careful when you first enter the portal, because there are mobs all over the place. Tidying Tel'anorSuramar Questline Start LocationsStart
The Tidying Tel'anor quest chain starts with The Lost Advisor (Wowhead | WoW DB) . This quest chain becomes available after completing Breaking the Lightbreaker. After you accept the quest don't just mindlessly start killing stuff like I did; you have to pick up items from the ground. End
Credit for Tidying Tel'anor will be given after completing Feathersong's Redemption (Wowhead | WoW DB) . The questgiver moves around quite a bit, so you may have to run around looking for him. Jandvik' JarlStart
> The Jandvik' Jarl quest chain starts with Removing Obstacles (Wowhead | WoW DB) . Warning: accepting this quest will make the mobs in Jandvik friendly. So if you are a hunter and want to take one of the wolves there you will need to do that before accepting this quest. End
Credit for Jandvik' Jarl will be given after completing Turning the Tidemistress (Wowhead | WoW DB) . Note: make sure to use the Makeshift Ballista before you start killing naga, or you won't get credit for the kills. The Waning CrescentStart
The The Waning Crescent quest chain starts with Lady Lunastre (Wowhead | WoW DB) . You need to be 1,750 rep into Friendly with the Nightfallen in order to see this quest. End
Credit for The Waning Crescent will be given after completing Redistribution (Wowhead | WoW DB) . StatecraftStart
The Statecraft quest chain starts with The Perfect Opportunity (Wowhead | WoW DB) . You need to have 8,000 rep into Honored with The Nightfalled to start this quest. Initially, you had to complete this quest chain in order to unlock The Arcway and Court of Stars dungeons. I believe that is no longer the case, but I am unable to personally confirm that. End
Credit for Statecraft will be given after completing Ly'leth's Champion (Wowhead | WoW DB) . Note: you have to watch the entire RP exchange between Ly'leth and Coryn in order to actual fight him. Moon Guard StrongholdStart
The Moon Guard Stronghold quest chain starts with Fate of the Guard (Wowhead | WoW DB) . Note: There is a tunnel to the left of the stairs that leads to Kailea Windfeather that allows you to skip a bunch of patrolling mobs. End
Credit for Moon Guard Stronghold will be given after completing Last Stand of the Moon Guard (Wowhead | WoW DB) . Make sure to activate the ley-line portal before accepting this quest. The quest itself is just an RP event that ends with you being teleported away. If you don't activate the portal first you will have to walk all the way back up to get it. Eminent Grow-mainStart
The Eminent Grow-main quest chain starts with Feline Frantic (Wowhead | WoW DB). End
Credit for Eminent Grow-main will be given after completing the quest Eminent Grow-main (Wowhead | WoW DB) . Note: the item you need to complete this quest is on a moonwell near by. A Change of SeasonsStart
The A Change of Seasons quest chain starts with All In (Wowhead | WoW DB) . To pick up this quest you have to be at least 20,000 rep into Revered with The Nightfallen and have completed all the other Suramar storylines. RIP Arluin. EndWow Lockdown Quest
Credit for A Change of Seasons will be given after completing Arcan'dor, Gift of the Ancient Magi (Wowhead | WoW DB) . Grats on your Good Suramaritan achievement!
